The corks are brought to the waste disposal center by the campsites, and the association then collects and recycles the cork to make, among other things, ottomans and cushions, or even insulation for homes.

The largest region in France offers diverse landscapes and multiple points of interest. With exceptional natural, tourist, architectural, and cultural heritage, Nouvelle-Aquitaine is the second most visited region by the French.
A true driver of our region’s economic dynamism (12.2 billion euros in tourist consumption, 8% of regional GDP, 103,000 jobs…), tourism therefore plays a major role in regional policy. Outdoor accommodation is one of the pillars of this economy, with its 1,520 campsites representing over 23 million overnight stays.
FDHPA 17 and Picoty Atlantique, specializing in energy distribution, have partnered to collect and repurpose used cooking oils to transform them into biofuel.
The goal of this partnership is to provide containers to member campsites and to collect their used cooking oils free of charge. This biofuel is then reinjected into the Avia-Picoty network’s service stations in western France. This entire process is carried out locally.
