Fifteen kilometers south of La Rochelle, relax with a swim or sunbathe in Châtelaillon-Plage. A family-friendly seaside resort, it offers numerous leisure facilities: sailing school, casino, thalassotherapy center, and aquatic center.
Châtelaillon Beach
Châtelaillon Beach is above all family-friendly. Here, everything is done to entertain children. Located on the Pertuis Sea, the water is quite calm, sheltered by the Île d’Aix and Île d’Oléron facing it.
Along the seafront, masts topped with totem animals serve as fun landmarks for meeting up with family or friends on ‘Châtel’ beach, as it’s called here!
In summer, as evening falls, the resort comes alive around the cafes and restaurants facing the sea, near the casino and in the town’s streets. The Belle Époque style villas give the resort a proud appearance, having preserved and enhanced its 1900s architecture.
A Lively Resort
Châtelaillon resort’s reputation precedes it. With its year-round entertainment program (Kite Festival at Easter, concerts, ball and Boucholeurs festival in summer, gourmet stops in autumn…), the resort knows how to have fun and share convivial moments with locals and holidaymakers.
Every summer, a small funfair with rides, bumper cars, duck fishing, and cotton candy vendors sets up in the town center on Place Jean Moulin.

Aquatic Facilities
The 29° Aquatic Center
Children can always have fun in Châtelaillon, even if the tide is low or the weather is gloomy. Indeed, the resort is equipped with an aquatic center, located a few meters from the beach, facing the marina and renovated in 2018.
The 29° aquatic center offers five indoor and outdoor pools as well as three slides (including a giant 110-meter slide). Adults can relax in the wellness area with a sauna, hammam, and hot tub.
A new playground has been specially designed for children with aerial water games, water bells, a turtle, a three-meter-high pelican, water cannons, and the super splash… the star attraction of this 200 m² land area.
The Marine Spa
Châtelaillon’s thalassotherapy center has been revamped! It offers a new 2,700 m² ‘marine spa’ area. Half-day free access is available to enjoy the spa at your leisure, featuring a 150 m² pool, a hammam, and a jacuzzi. Enjoy a body treatment or a massage to relax in this new world dedicated to well-being.
