Pierre Schmitz

At 18, Pierre Schmitz is already establishing himself as one of wingfoil’s great hopes. Originally from Île de Ré and trained at the La Rochelle youth training center, he discovered sailing in childhood before starting to compete. 2024 is his breakout year: French Junior Champion, winner of the U19 Wing Challenge, 3rd in the ISWA U19 European Cup. Out of nine races at the French championships, he won seven, becoming the first French junior champion in the discipline. A demanding and passionate rider, Pierre also contributes to the Zephir Project alongside Antoine Albeau, testing cutting-edge equipment. Ambitious yet clear-headed, he now aims for the senior category and dreams of competing against the world’s best. On his foil, he embodies the new generation: fast, technical, and driven by a boundless passion for wind and gliding.
